Pneumatic Butterfly Valve Introduction

Pneumatic control valves are all kinds of pneumatic components that control the pressure, flow and flow direction of airflow in pneumatic systems and ensure the normal operation of pneumatic actuators or agencies. It is a type of valve that uses a circular disc or plate, known as the butterfly, to control the flow of fluid through the valve.

Pneumatic Butterfly Valve Principle

The working principle of a pneumatic butterfly valve is relatively simple. The valve consists of a circular disc or plate, known as the butterfly, that rotates around a central axis to control the flow of fluid through the valve. The disc is connected to a valve stem, which is in turn connected to an actuator, typically a pneumatic actuator.

When the actuator receives a signal to open the valve, it applies air pressure to a piston inside the actuator, which in turn moves the valve stem and rotates the disc to an open position. When the actuator receives a signal to close the valve, it releases the air pressure, allowing a spring inside the actuator to move the valve stem and disc back to a closed position.
